Mixed Media Cards with lots of Texture and Collage Fodder

Hi everyone! In my last video I made some botanical collage fodder with our Sketchy Leaves stencils and the Gelli Plate. Today I am going to use two of them on a duo of mixed media ICADs. For the index cards I am using a lot of texture and I am making quite a mess with acrylic inks, liquid charcoal, some stamps and collage. The techniques I am showing you are also great to be used in your art journal or on artist trading cards.

Halli hallo! Im heutigen Video möchte ich zwei der Collage-Elemente aus dem Video vom letzten Wochenende verwenden. Diese hatte ich mit der Gelli Plate und unseren Sketchy Leaves Schablonen gestaltet. Ich gestalte zwei Mixed Media Karten mit viel Textur, Farben und Mark Makings! Diese Techniken eignen sich auch prima für Seiten im Art Journal, ATCs oder andere Mixed Media Projekte.

I used our Marks 1 stencil together with super heavy gesso to create some interesting texture on the background of each of the cards. After this was dry I did some background stamping and used acrylic inks in magenta and transparent burnt sienna (Liquitex) to bring in some color. For some grungyness I used liquid charcoal from Derwent and black acrylic ink. I then used the white gesso again to bring back the stencil texture. I added more stamping (Mixed Media Marks 1) and added some turquoise mark makings. Finally I adhered some collage paper with the leaves and a sentiment.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich unsere Marks 1 Schablone zusammen mit Super Heavey Gesso verwendet. Als das getrocknet war habe ich ein paar Stempelabdrücke für mehr Textur gemacht und mit Acryltinten in Magenta und Burnt Sienna etwas Farbe ins Spiel gebracht. Damit das ganze etwas mehr “Grunge” bekommt verwende ich Liquid Charcoal zusammen mit schwarzer Acryltinte. Mit weißem Gesso bringe ich anschließend wieder etwas von der Schablonentextur zurück. Bevor ich meine Hauptmotive und die Titel aufklebe ergänze ich noch einige Stempelabdrücke (Mixed Media Marks 1) und Mark Makings mit Acrylfarbe.
