Mixed Media Play in my handmade Junk Art Journal

Hi there, Susanne here with a junk art journal spread using watercolors, acrylic inks, collage and some flowers and leaves from my Loose Florals stamp set. I am working in one of my handmade old book journals. I made them years ago with an old book cover and a lot of junky papers. I love to work in this journal whenever I have absolutely no idea what to create. I just blob down colors and go with the flow.

Hallo zusammen! Heute zeige ich mal wieder eine mixed media Seite in meinem handgemachten Junk Art Journal. Ich verwende die Blumenstempel aus meinem Loose Florals Set zusammen mit Aquarellfarben, Acryltinten, Collage und Markmakings.

I added some loose watercoloring to the spread and after these had dried I went in with some white gesso and applied this with my fingers. After this was dry I did some background stamping with images from Mix It Up 5 and Mix It Up 6. I added Burnt Sienna and Prussian Blue acrylic ink to bring in more contrast.

Die Aquarellfarben verteile ich ganz locker auf meinem Hintergrund und ergänze das Ganz nach dem Trocknen mit etwas Gesso. Dieser muss nun wieder trocknen, bevor ich mit ein paar Hintergrundstempeln, aus dem Mix It Up 5 und Mix It Up 6 Set, Texturen erzeuge. Da mir alles noch etwas fad erschien habe ich auf der Seite noch mit Acryltinte in Burnt Sienna und Prussian Blue locker aufgetragen.

Whilst the ink was drying I prepared my focal point. I stamped images from our Loose Florals stamp set onto gelli prints using StazOn ink. This makes some amazing collage fodder. I used some of my handmade washi tape and a strip of old book paper to build a bottom where my flowers can grow out of. I then adhered them and added some extra color to the flower centers with acrylic markers.
To finish up the page I did some mark making with a yellow Posca pen and a light blue Neocolor II and I build a sentiment with words from our Mix A Sentiment stamp set.

Während das ganze nun gut trocknet kreiere ich schon mal meine Hauptmotive mit den Blumen aus dem Loose Florals Stempelset. Ich stempele die Motive dazu auf einige meiner Gelli Prints. Anschließend schneide ich sie aus. Damir die Blumen später nicht in der Luft wachsen, gestalte ich einen “Boden” mit handgemachtem Washi Tape und etwas alter Buchseite. Nachdem ich die Blumen aufgeklebt und ihnen einen Stil und Blätter gemalt habe mache ich noch einige Markmakings mit einem Posca Pen in gelb und einer hellblauen Neocolor Kreide.
