Mixed Media Index Cards with Soft Pastels – Video Tutorial & Pastel Review

Hi everybody! Today I am sharing a fun technique to do with soft pastels together with mixed media. I’m also having a look at the 70 Soft Pastel set from Marie’s. Lightwish kindly sent this to me for free! I am creating some autumnal Icads today using our stamp set of the month (it’s 10% off in September): the Autumn Leaves.

Willkommen zu meinem neusten Video! Heute zeige ich dir eine tolle Technik mit Softpastellkreiden für deine Mixed Media Projekte. Außerdem nehme ich das Softpastell Set mit 70 Kreiden von Marie’s unter die Lupe! Lightwish war so nett und hat mir das Set kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt. Für meine dekorierten Karteikarten verwende ich unsere Stempelset des Monats, Autumn Leaves. Im September ist es 10% reduziert!

I started the cards by adhering some left over collage pieces with a glue stick. I then primed the surface with a layer of clear gesso. Once that was dry I applied the soft pastels and blended them with water. This gives a gorgeous grungy texture. After everything was dry again I did some background stamping with images from Mix It Up 6. My focal images are leaves stamped with our Autumn Leaves stamp set using Distress Inks in two layers. Die Karteikärtchen habe ich zuerst mit einigen Papierschnipseln beklebt und anschließend mit klarem Gesso grundiert. Sobald das getrocknet war habe ich die Pastellkreiden aufgetragen und mit Wasser verblended. Das muss natürlich auch wieder trocknen. Für ein wenig mehr Texture stempelte ich einige Motive aus dem Mix It Up 6 Set. Meine Hauptmotive sind Blätter aus unserem Autumn Leaves Stempelset, die ich mit Distress Inks gestempelt habe.
