I everybody! We’ve recently visited a small Zoo near us were we haven’t been for years! Of course I had my sketchbook and quite a lot of markers and colored pencils with me and was able to do some sketching!
Mainly I took a bunch of photos! Glad we went there quite late at the day so towards the evening the bigger animals became more acitve, so did the bears!
Let’s start with the sketches I did on location. I did a lot more quick pencil drawings on the go as well, but did not take photos of them.
Here are the ones it did at home from the photos I’ve taken. Again I made myself a little referece ebook for my tablet on Canva. This time I only used my own photos!
On the next three images I worked over a prepped background, using acrylic gouache! I really like the results! I feel it gives the drawings more looseness (if this is a word).
Last but not least I did this. I think that’s the one that took me the longest. I started by blocking out color shapes and it took me a while until I was happy. During the process I had times were I thought it will never turn our nice.
