I’m creating some mixed media greeting cards with some of my gelli printed papers. I shared a lot of gelli printing videos recently. Just scroll a few weeks back on my blog and you will find them. For these cards I also used my new Sketchy Flowers stamp sets. I colored the images with watercolors. For even more details on the background I embossed the flower stamps to it.

I just want to share some greeting cards I made recently. I used my Loose Florals stamp set for these cards. They are great for Valentine’s Day or for any other happy occasion. I kept them very neutral, so I can use them when they are needed. I made the backgrounds with watercolors and stamped the flowers onto some of my gelli prints. I love to paint loose and sketchy flowers with watercolors. I believe this is something everybody can do without having much knowledge about watercolor painting. For this spread I used waterproof ink to sketch the flower first and then I went in with my watercolors. You can really easily fit this into a busy day. It’s a 5 min Sketch in the morning and 5min of coloring in the evening. Et voilá… it’s a pretty painting.

I made an art journal page with a collage background using scraps from my gelli prints. This is a great way to get rid of them. You can combine and experiment with different colors and shapes which will create amazing variations of mixed media backgrounds.
