Hi everybody! I’m sharing a new video today over on my YouTube channel. It’s just a loose doodling spread with dip pen, ink a few stamps and watercolors.
I really enjoy that loose and free process. It’s not about making a wonderful painting, it’s about to get started, warm your hands up and just get into a creative flow. I picked an image from the Flower Color Guide book as reference. I always try to not focus too much on the reference. I try to use it as guide and don’t want to be to precise.
I used my Fabriano sketchbook for the drawing. It doesn’t have watercolor paper in it, but I really like how it worked. I started with the line drawing in sepia ink from Rohrer & Klingner. I then added a bit of vintage background stamping with images from Vintage Stuff. The ink has to dry for a while to make sure it is waterproof! After a few hours I coloured everything with watercolors.
