Two Abstract Mixed Media Paintings – Inspired by an art journal page

Hi everybody! I am sharing a new exclusive video today for my lovely Mixed Media Play members over on YouTube. I am creating two abstract mixed media paintings inspired by my latest art journal spread I shared on Tuesday! I have this video linked again to this spread!

Before we start I’d like to tell you some exciting news! I am a teacher in the popular Wanderlust workshop next year! It’s the Wanderlust 2027 – Seasons Edition! Amongst 40 amazing artist I am able to share a lesson and I am super proud to be part of that! I’d be happy to see you in class next year! All information is available on the Wanderlust website!

Now let’s have a look at the paintings from today. As I mentioned I used my latest art journal page as inspiration. That made it really easy to start those paintings. It was a super relaxing process. I worked with similar colors and tried to create a similar composition.

This is the art journal page – I’ve linked the process video again underneath.

That’s the process for the art journal page above:

Now let’s have a look at the two paintings I did inspired by this spread. I used some watercolor paper pads that are glued on all four sides. I like this because you don’t have to stretch you paper and it makes it easy to just start.
I ended up with two paintings because I forgot to press record when I started the first one. So I started out new and then finished the first one later in the video. The process video is linked up at the end. It’s available for Mixed Media Play members.

Many of the supplies I use, are available at Craftelier (de), Craftelier (uk), Craftelier (es). It’s one of my favourite shops for art materials as they have a big range, good prices and reasonable shipping costs (free on order over 60€).
I also have all my favourite Materials collected on my Amazon storefront. These are all affiliate links, you don’t pay more, but I get a small amount back. Thank you!
