Art Journaling with Collage and Mark Making – Video Tutorial

Hi everyone! I’m sharing a spread in one of my handmade junk art journals today, playing with Collage, Stamps and Derwent Inktense watercolors. I love playing in this small junky book. It doesn’t take much time and gives me the freedom to create even when I have a busy day. I am using handmade collage papers on this spread, these are mainly gelli prints on different papers. My focal images on this spread is made with our Sketchy Leaves 3 stencil.

It doesn’t take much time and gives me the freedom to create even when I have a busy day. I mainly use collage paper scraps on these pages. My focal images on this spread are from our Pencil Marks 1 stamp set. I stamped it to a gelli print.
If you don’t have the Derwent Pencils you can also use any other water-soluble pencil or crayon. Even acrylic inks or watercolors would work.

Wenn du die Derwent Stifte nicht hast funktionier das Ganze genauso gut mit anderen Aquarellstiften oder -kreiden. Sogar Aquarellfarben oder Acryltinten sind passend. Meine Hauptmotive sind Stempel aus unserem Pencil Marks 1 Stempelset.

Mixed Media Cards with lots of Texture and Collage Fodder

Hi everyone! In my last video I made some botanical collage fodder with our Sketchy Leaves stencils and the Gelli Plate. Today I am going to use two of them on a duo of mixed media ICADs. For the index cards I am using a lot of texture and I am making quite a mess with acrylic inks, liquid charcoal, some stamps and collage. The techniques I am showing you are also great to be used in your art journal or on artist trading cards.

Diese hatte ich mit der Gelli Plate und unseren Sketchy Leaves Schablonen gestaltet. Ich gestalte zwei Mixed Media Karten mit viel Textur, Farben und Mark Makings! Diese Techniken eignen sich auch prima für Seiten im Art Journal, ATCs oder andere Mixed Media Projekte.

How to make Floral Collage Fodder – Video Tutorial

Hi everyone! In one of my past videos I used some handmade collage fodder made with our Sketchy Leaves stencils and the Gelli Plate. Today I am sharing a full process video for them. They are so versatile and can be used on any kind of project, such as art journal pages, mixed media tags or greeting cards. They all turn out so different depending on the gelli prints you are using. I’m sharing some sample projects with these leaves in the post.

Ich verwende dazu farbenfrohe Gelli Prints (alternativ Design Papiere), die Gelli Plate, unsere Sketchy Leaves Schablonen und ein paar Stempel. Diese Collage-Elemente sind ideal als Hauptmotiv im Art Journal, auf Grußkarten oder für andere Mixed Media Projekte. Jedes Motiv sieht anders aus, je nachdem welches Papier du verwendest. Im Post zeige ich die einige Bespiele die ich mit den Blättern gestaltet habe.

It doesn’t take much time and gives me the freedom to create even when I have a busy day. I mainly use collage paper scraps on these pages. My focal image on this spread is from our Collage Leaves stamp set. I stamped it also to a gelli print.
I am using Stabilo Woodys today, because I have them already at home. If you don’t have these, I’d not recommend them. The Neocolors are just the same, if not better! They are not as expensive as the Woodys and come in a big range of colors.

Heute verwende ich einige Collagepapiere zusammen mit Stabilo Woodys. Wenn ihr noch keine solchen Stifte habt würde ich die Neocolor II Kreiden empfehlen, diese sind günstiger als die Woodys und mindestens genauso gut, wenn nicht besser! Mein Hauptmotiv is ein Stempel aus unserem Collage Leaves Stempelset.

Stencil Smooshing with Distress Inks & Oxides – An Art Journal Background – Video Tutorial

Hi everyone! As I enjoyed this process so much, I am playing in my watercolor journal today again using Distress Inks with some of our new stencils. This technique creates a lovely layered background that can be used not only for art journaling also for other mixed media projects like cards, atcs or tags. Today I wanted to make a spread with some autumnal vibes.
I am inking up the stencils, spritz them with water and then use them like a stamp to get an impression on my pages. I am drying the layers inbetween to avoid mud and to get a more dimensional look.

Halli hallo. Heute gestalte ich eine Art Journal Seite im Aquarellbuch von Kunst und Papier. Den Hintergrund mache ich mit einigen unserer neuen Schablonen kombiniert mit Distress Ink und Distress Oxide Stempelkissen. Mit dieser Technik entsteht ein wunderschöner geschichteter Hintergrund mit viel Textur. Die einzelnen Schichten trockne ich zwischendurch, damit die Farben am Ende nicht matschig aussehen.

ATCs from a Masterboard – Pushing through the Ugly Stage of your Art Work

Hi everyone! Pushing through the ugly stage is something I have to do quite often when I create in mixed media. Whilest building up layer upon layer there comes a stage when I feel it doesn’t look good anymore. Pushing throught this and keeping on working on the piece is then sometimes really hard. What I’ve learned over time is, that it’s normal to come to this ugly stage and that it’s always worth pushing through it. In the end most of the times the result is pretty and if not, you still have learned something. Some people might say time is wasted when you don’t create a beauitful piece of art. I don’t think so. I enjoy the process itself so much, in the end it’s not important what came out, it’s important that I showed up!

For today’s ATCs I am creating a masterboard with many layers in mixed media inspired by a colour palette my daughter created on the gelli plate. I am using a viewfinder to cut a bunch of artist trading cards from that masterboard and will then finish up six of them using main images from my Textured Mushrooms, Inky Mushrooms and Inky Friends stamp sets.

Halli hallo! Heute teile ich sechs ATCs erstellt von einem Masterboard in Mixed Media. Dafür verwende ich unterschiedliche Materialien wie Collage, Neocolor, Acrylfarben und Stempel. Die Farbpalette habe ich meiner Tochter “geklaut” sie hat vor kurzem ein bisschen mit der Gelli Plate gespielt und dabei eine tolle Farbkombination gefunden. Die Hauptmotive auf meinen Kärtchen sind Stempel aus meinem Textured Mushrooms, Inky Mushrooms und Inky Friends Stempelset.

Autumnal Art Journal Page with stamped Mushrooms

Hi everyone! I’m sharing a spread in one of my handmade junk art journals today using the cute mushrooms from my Textured Mushrooms stamp set.
I used collage, gesso and Distress Crayons to create the background. I removed the Distress Crayons in a few areas through our Small Ink Dots stencil using a wet wipe and I stamped some of my Autumn Leaves in black as kind of a frame. For even more texture I added some background stamping with a motive from the Mix It Up 4 stamp set.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich der Reihenfolge nach Collage, Gesso und Distress Crayons verwendet. Mit der Small Ink Dots Schablone hab ich mit Hilfe eines feuchten Tuchs wieder etwas von der Farbe der Crayons entfernt. Anschließend kam noch etwas Textur mit Motiven aus dem Mix It Up 4 Stempelset hinzu. Mit den Blättern aus meinem Autumn Leaves Stempelset habe ich eine Art Rahmen für die Seite gestaltet.

Atmospheric Art Journal Page with an autumnal Feel

Hi everyone! I’m sharing a spread in one of my handmade junk art journals today using the cute mushrooms from my Textured Mushrooms stamp set.
I used collage, gesso and Distress Crayons to create the background. Collage Fodder – Stamped Mushrooms with Gelli Prints

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a collage fodder video with my Textured Mushrooms stamp set. It was a cold and gloomy sunday last weekend – that’s the best time to make some collage fodder for your mixed media projects, art journals or other papercrafting creations, like cards or scrapbook layouts. Instead of colouring in the stamped images I am using some of my gelli prints and paper piece the mushrooms.

Hallo ihr Lieben. Heute habe ich eine kleine Inspiration zum Thema Collage Fodder bzw. Stempel kolorieren mal anders. Dieses Projekt ist perfekt geeignet für einen kühlen und grauen Sonntag auf der Couch. Ich verwende mein Textured Mushrooms Stempelset und einige Gelliprints um viele süße Pilze für diverse Papierprojekte zu gestatlten. Sie eignen sich perfekt für Mixed Media Projekte, Art Journal Seiten, Grußkarten oder Scrapbook-Layouts.
