In today’s video I am playing in my handmade junk art journal. I am using watercolors with a gesso resist technique to create some nice texture for the background. I also used some stamps from the Pencil Marks 2 set and from Mix It Up 1.

Im heutige Video gestalte ich eine grungy Seite in meinem handgemachten Junk Art Journal. Ich verwende Aquarellfarben und Gesso zum Stempeln, dadurch entsteht eine schöne Textur im Hintergrund. Außerdem verwende ich einige Stempel aus dem Pencil Marks 2 und Mix It Up 1 set.

Easy Artist Trading Cards with Collage Background

I’m sharing some quick collage ATCs with a background made from left over paper scraps. I added some stamping with the Pencil Marks 5 stamp set to the background. For the main image I colored in images from the Inky Flowers stamp set. I used alcohol markers on Perfect Coloring Paper. Click on more for a quick process video.

Hier habe ich ganz einfache ATCs mit einem Hintergrund aus Papierresten. Auf dem Hintergrund habe ich noch ein bisschen mit dem Pencil Marks 5 Set gestempelt. Das Hauptmotiv ist aus dem Inky Flowers Stempelset und wurde mit Alkoholmarkern koloriert. Gestempelt habe ich auf Perfect Coloring Paper.

Mixed Media Tag – Video Tutorial

I always wanted to upload more than just once a week to my YouTube channel. But editing, especially making a voice over costs hours of time. Time I don’t have. So I thought I will upload an extra video during the week without a voice over, just showing the process. I hope you will enjoy it anyway. I will be back on Saturday with my usual voice over video. So this is a little extra. I try to mention everything that’s important here, but if you have any questions, leave it in the comments. I will get back to you as soon as I can. In today’s video I am making a mixed media tag with a lot of stamping (sets are linked underneath) and some of the Flash Paints. These are vinyl paints. They are similar to acrylics, but they dry completely mat, almost like gouache. I love to use them in my sketchbook as a replacement for acrylic gouache, too. But they are also amazing for mixed media. Because of their finish they almost don’t stick, so they are perfect to use in your art journal. The focal point on the tag is stamped with Distress Ink. I gave the stamp a spritz of water after I’ve inked it up. So the stamped impression gets this nice watercolor effect. I will link up a reel video in the post.

Ich wollte schon länger wieder zwei Videos pro Woche auf meinen YouTube Kanal hochladen. Jedoch braucht das editieren, besonders das vertonen viele Stunden an Zeit. Ich habe mich deshalb entschieden jede Woche ein zweites unvertontes Video für dich hochzuladen. Ich hoffe das gefällt dir trotzdem. Wichtige Informationen zum Prozess werde ich hier schreiben und Samstags bin ich natürlich wie gewohnt zurück mit meinen “normalen” Videos. Für mein heutiges mixed media Tag habe ich viel gestempelt (alle Sets sind unten verlinkt) und hauptsächlich die Flash-Paints verwendet. Das sind Vinylfarben. Diese sind wie Acrylfarben, trocknen jedoch komplett matt, was für einen Einsatz im Sketchbook oder Art Journal optimal ist, da die Seiten kaum zusammenkleben. Das Hauptmotiv habe ich mit Distress Ink gestempelt. Dazu habe ich den Stempel nach dem Einfärben mit etwas Wasser besprüht. Dadurch bekommt man einen schönen Aquarelleffekt. Autumnal Watercolour Palette Setup

Over the weekend I setup a small watercolour palette with some of my favourite granulating colours with an autumnal feel. I just wanted to have a small box, because I plan to take this on out on location drawing. Click more for a list of the paints that are in there and to see some samples.

Am letzten Wochenende habe ich mir eine kleine Aquarellpalette mit meinen Lieblingsfarben für den Herbst zusammen gestellt. Es sind fast alles granulierende Farben, da ich diese Textur besonders im Herbst passend finde. Lies weiter, wenn du wissen möchtest welche Farben enthalten sind und wenn du gleich ein paar Sketchbookseiten sehen möchtest.
